VIKINGS' BYRON MURPHY JR RECEIVES CUSTOM SPURS JERSEY AHEAD OF N17 APPEARANCE!
Minnesota Vikings star Byron Murphy Jr received a custom Tottenham Hotspur jersey ahead of his appearance at the Club’s stadium in this Sunday’s NFL London Game.
Byron was presented with the bespoke jersey at a training session ahead of Sunday’s clash, with the Cornerback also set to wear the kit in the warm-up for the game.
The shirt’s eclectic design was inspired by the Club’s own Nike European training range, while incorporating the Vikings’ purple and yellow as pastel hues to complement the green base and light-coloured cockerel. The jersey also features the upwards Nike swoosh, which is a unique aspect of our Third Kit for the 2024/25 season, representing progressive values.
The jersey embodies the pride of the N17 community with the inclusion of the ‘Seven Sisters Crest’ and the words ‘Taking over Tottenham’, underlining how the local area has embraced the NFL’s arrival as part of the Club’s wider aim to create a sport, leisure and entertainment destination in London.
Byron’s work ethic and leadership on the field, combined with his flair and fashion style off the field, made him the ideal recipient for the jersey. It features his Vikings’ number 7 in a blackletter typeface on a purple fabric backing that positions the product as a fashion-first item.
The presentation followed a similar creation of a bespoke jersey that the Club gifted to Travis Scott after the artist performed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this year.
Byron said: “Receiving the kit was crazy, I really appreciate the gift from Tottenham Hotspur. It is going to look great wearing it on Sunday! I like to design clothes myself, so this means a lot.
“I am looking forward to the energy of the fans in London, this is my first game here, and I can’t wait to take the field with my teammates.”
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the official Home of the NFL in the UK, and last year the Club announced an expansion of its partnership with the NFL through to the 2029 - 2030 NFL season.
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the only stadium purpose-built for NFL games outside of the US, with bespoke facilities including its own playing surface, locker rooms and media areas.
The Minnesota Vikings face-off against the New York Jets this Sunday 6 October, 2.30pm BST, in the first fixture of the double-header at the Stadium.
