As action resumed in the Gallagher Premiership after the 6 Nations, the annual Showdown puts club rugby centre stage at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. 55,000 fans – the largest Premiership crowd of the season – came together to cheer on two of the biggest names in English rugby at what Saracens and England fly-half Owen Farrell calls “one of the best days in the calendar”.
It was all to play for as the Premiership leaders faced a Quins side eager to score valuable points in their own chase for a place in the play-offs. After a spectacular display of pyrotechnics in the Stadium, Alex Dombrandt barrelled over in the corner less than two minutes in to give Quins an early lead.

But a Sarries team bristling with internationals quickly regrouped and unleashed a display of free-flowing rugby as they stormed into a 22-7 lead by half time. Quins hit back hard in the second half but couldn’t close the gap with the match finishing 36-24.
